Terms and Conditions

Please read the below carefully. By agreeing to the Kimba McG Design (hereby referred to in the first person) terms and conditions you are confirming you understand what is laid out below. If you don’t understand anything please feel free to use the contact form to ask me for clarification.

All prices are quoted in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and are inclusive of GST. Payments are preferred to be made by internet bank transfer, however PayPal can also be accepted if needed and will require a fee of an additional 3.4%. A 50% deposit is due prior to work on your design beginning, and will be requested by email with an attached invoice. The final 50% deposit is due within 5 working days of the receipt of your final proposal. Final means after any revisions required which are included as part of the original quoted price. I will not charge late fees for overdue invoices, however work will not begin on your design until the deposit has been paid. The deposit is non-refundable.

All designs, briefs, and invoices are provided in PDF format and it is your responsibility to ensure you are able to open these documents.

Following acceptance of your initial contact, I will contact you with a full brief and quote. It is important that you read the brief carefully and clarify any points which are incorrect, or request to add anything you feel either myself or you have forgotten. You also agree that the accuracy of any measurements provided for rooms, existing furniture, doorways, windows, ceilings, and other architectural features are your own responsibility.

Prices listed on the website are a guide only and all jobs are quoted individually to ensure appropriate time can be spent on your space dependent on the complexity of your needs. All quotes are valid for 14 days unless otherwise specified.

The initial concept proposal will be provided within 3 weeks (21 days) of deposit payment, however I am unable to guarantee when final design proposals are presented as this is dependent on how long you take to request changes or clarifications. Complex and/or accurate 3D renderings and specification sheets are included with final design proposals only as they are the most complex to provide and must only be completed once any changes needed have been made to the initial concept. In the event of unforeseeable and reasonable delays such as illness or natural disaster affecting my ability to deliver a concept proposal within the 21 day agreed timeframe, the client may cancel this agreement and request a full refund of the deposit, or agree to a timeframe extension. I disclaims liability for missed deadlines if you have already engaged contractors to complete work, as it is recommended you have a completed design prior to discussing timeframes with any trades. I will provide a schedule of works, however this is subject to change following engagement of contractors should your property require additional work to improve the underlying structure or systems (e.g. mould, asbestos, structural problems etc).

All proposals presented by myself are intended to provide a starting point for the styling and space planning of your room or home and are intended for visual purposes only. This means I amnot responsible for any structural changes or construction to be performed on any buildings, and you should consult a builder, draftsperson and/or architect if you plan to move forward with any suggested structural changes to your home. I am not responsible for the cost or timeframe of any trades, and this should be considered before requesting a design. I recommend talking to a builder first to understand if this will be within your budget.

I am not responsible for the quality or availability of any items suggested in any proposal. It is recommended you engage me when you are ready to move forward with implementation to avoid any products becoming discontinued. The quality and performance of any items, finishes, or fixtures are the responsibility of the manufacturer.

Should you wish to change the brief following payment of the deposit, you must contact me at your earliest convenience. I reserves the right to quote for additional time if your design has already been started and will depend on the specifics of the brief change and how much of the original brief has been completed. You may choose to continue with the original brief if you prefer following receipt of the quote for the additional fee.

Providing a budget for your project is required, as this serves as a guideline for the level of finish, and will help with understanding if your scope of work is realistic. This budget should be for fixtures, fittings, finishes, and furniture only. Trades are the client responsibility only and should you wish to gain a quote for works such as building, plumbing, and electrical work (among others) you should engage those contractors directly. While I am happy to help, should you wish to understand if your total budget is realistic, I am not able to provide a guaranteed estimate or answer, and any response to this question should be considered an opinion only.
